Tod Seelie, who opened an awesome one-man photo show, Constant Quarry, at SPACE last Fall, is back in Maine doing a residency at the Bakery Photo Collective in Westbrook (and serving as support for the recently-installed Distance Don’t Matter gallery show). Tomorrow night (Tuesday, 10/20), he’ll be giving a free artist talk at The Bakery at 8pm.

Tod Seelie, The Bakery’s current artist in residence, will be giving an artist talk on Tuesday October 20th at 8:00pm. Tod will show some work and talk about current projects. Please join us for an informal presentation.
Tod spent the past four summers building and traveling with a crew of artists and performers on rafts made out of junk on the Mississippi and Hudson rivers, as well as the Adriatic Sea. These incarnations of the Miss Rockaway Armada and the Swimming Cities blurred the line between art, life and adventure while aiming to inspire people along the way.
Tod Seelie has photographed in over fifteen countries on five different continents. His work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Spin,Marie Claire, Jane, Men’s Journal, Thrasher, Vice, i-D, Paper, XXL, Art Forum, Art In America, Parade Magazine, and Adbusters among others.
His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Paris, Milan, Sydney, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, Cleveland, Miami and at Mass MoCA. His work has also appeared in various photography books, such as The Vice Photo Book, Street World, Backyard Shakedown, Hijacked, and Various Photographs curated by Tim Barber.
