Dead Of Winter ’09: Peet, Oscar, and Wesley

In this second round of Dead Of Winter interviews, you get 3 for the price of one!

Brenda‘s Peet Chamberlain (PC), Gully‘s Oscar Romero (OR), and Dead End Armory‘s Wesley Hartley (WH) may as well have been sitting in a room together while answering our 7 questions, so let’s pretened they were.

How long have you lived in Portland (or Maine)?
PC: Forever.
OR: Since 2001, spent summers in portland (commercial street) since 97.
WH: 4 years.

When did you start playing music?
PC: [age] 8.
OR: The early 90’s (drums), picked up guitar in 1996 (used to play using thumb).
WH: 4 years ago.

Who do you perform with normally?
PC: Josh [Loring, of Brenda].
OR: Gully, dude.
WH: Dead End Armory.

Other than SPACE Gallery, what is one of your favorite venues in Portland?
PC: The Alehouse.
OR: Geno’s.
WH: (n/a)

Who is your favorite Portland musician or group, other than
yourself or those you normally perform with?

PC: As Fast As.
OR: Peet Chamberlain.
WH: Chris Sutherland and Lady Lamb the Beekeeper.

How are you tackling the challenge of performing this material
alone, when (if) you usually perform it with others?

PC: Quietly.
OR: Carefully.
WH: Head up, knees bent, drive through.

What are your musical plans for 2009?
PC: New guitar strings.
OR:Gully 7″ record/album, bedroom solo album (4 track).
WH: One month spring tour w/DEA, release new DEA album “don’t peel your bloomers off just yet”, release solo album “nine rail fences” under Peapod, and recording new solo album in May with Matt Pence @ The Echo Labs in Denton, TX.
