Presente! Maine Benefit Show with Wake in Fright, Mouth Washington, Adlt Grrrl, and Vehicular Manslaughter

Some of Portland’s punk and rock luminaries join together in support of grassroots, Portland-based mutual-aid organization Presente! Maine.

Wake In Fright is a punk/rock/roll trio from Portland, Maine, featuring Micah Blue Smaldone, Jonas Eule, and Greg Bazinet. The band draws urgently from the first wave of UK and Aussie punk – the Clash, the Jam, the Saints, etc. with unflinching lyrics about the grim road ahead.

Mouth Washington is a post-hardcore band hailing from Portland, Maine, known for their raw energy and emotionally charged performances. Formed in 2011 by brothers Max and Zach Hansen, the band has evolved from their early days of chaotic live shows to a more refined sound that still retains their original intensity.

Their music blends elements of punk, emo, and alternative rock, drawing comparisons to bands like Fugazi and Magnolia Electric Co. Early albums such as “Dichotomy” (2011) and “Bronze Age” (2013) showcased their slacker narratives and rhythmic arrangements. With “Fourth Floor” (2017), they began to focus more on songwriting, leading to critical acclaim. Their latest release, “Remiss” (2021), is noted for its emotional depth and serves as a tribute to their late guitarist, Will Held.

Mouth Washington has shared the stage with acts like American Nightmare, Cave In, and Converge, solidifying their place in the New England music scene. Their live shows are known for their intensity and have been described as “a tempest—a collision of raw emotion and blistering riffs.”

Adlt Grrrl is an art punk power trio from Portland Maine, made up of Ada Bonnevie on guitar and vocals, Asher Platts on bass and vocals, and Sarah LaPointe on drums.

Vehicular Manslaughter is a punk inspired band known for their rambunctious musical style and energetic sound. Their music criticizes the current political landscape, becoming a vehicle for messages of resistance and rebellion. “Vehicular Manslaughter” was formed in Portland ME (2023) and is comprised of Drako (vocals), Abby (bass), Atlas (guitar), and Raynor (drums).
