Pólvora

SPACE is pleased to present Pólvora, a new installlation by Las Vegas artist, Justin Favela.  Using traditional “Cartonería” (Mexican paper craft) materials, Favela will fill the walls at SPACE with large scale “piñata murals” creating a landscape that includes a fireworks show. The installation will celebrate the use of fireworks in U.S. and Latin American culture.

Justin Favela is a Las Vegas native working in the mediums of painting, sculpture, and performance. His work drawss from art history, popular culture and his Guatemalan/Mexican heritage.

He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts from UNLV and has participated in exhibitions across the United Stated and the United Kingdom.  Las Vegas venues include the Contemporary Arts Center, Trifecta Gallery and the Clark County Government Center.
