Make a year end donation!

2022 has been a landmark year for SPACE as we celebrate the organization’s 20th anniversary. Our first two decades have only been possible with a strong coalition of community supporters, and we hope you’ll join us for the decade ahead!

After fully reopening last October for indoor events, SPACE has welcomed audiences for cinematic wonders, dynamic performances, thoughtful conversations, social gatherings, artistic explorations, and the best in contemporary music. Whether you have joined us in person, virtually cheered from the sidelines during the pandemic, or have enjoyed the visual, performing, and literary arts commissions we have funded throughout the state: SPACE is grateful to the communities that made our first first twenty years a reality.

Our members help foster innovative cultural opportunities here in Maine, nationally, and across the globe. For artists and audiences alike, we are proud to be a site of play, discussion, introspection, and activism. In 2022, SPACE has championed Maine artists like never before: with our short-term partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, we provided stimulus project grants to 76 Maine collaborating artists (and counting!) through the American Rescue Plan Act. Now we need our community to support our Congress Street home, operational and programming expenses, and mission. Can you help SPACE lead the way into 2023 with a year-end charitable gift?

Behind the scenes, we’ve refined and completed our new multi-year strategic plan and continue to expand our staff and board for a post-pandemic SPACE. With your support, we can keep Maine’s creative community thriving with the decades to come of SPACE’s visionary work.

With gratitude,

Kelsey Halliday Johnson
Executive Director
